The present e-book is designed primarily for dental students and practitioners as a comprehensive guide to evidence-based fixed prosthodontics. It is founded on the Nordic Concept, which emphasizes treating only when necessary and adopting the least invasive approach possible without compromising long-term durability or patient satisfaction.
The content provides up-to-date information on examination, diagnostic, and indications for fixed prosthodontics in relation to evidence and patients’ needs and expectations. It also addresses functional, periodontal, cariological and tooth wear considerations. The fundamentals of conventional tooth preparation are thoroughly covered, followed by chapters on both analog as well and digital impression techniques. Additionally, a dedicated chapter explores resin-bonded fixed dental prostheses.
This first edition includes the initial chapters of what will become a more extensive second edition. It serves as the foundation for a series, with future volumes planned to cover implant-supported reconstructions.
